Unemployment Insurance Tax System Modernization Project
The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions has begun the Unemployment Insurance Tax System Modernization project (UITSM). The Department will be making improvements to the State Unemployment Insurance Tax program.
This user-friendly system will meet the needs of all employers (large or small), payroll providers, and third party payroll administrators.
The UITSM Project will be deployed in two phases. The first phase is scheduled to be available March 1, 2011 and will provide on-line employer self service registration and maintenance functions to employers, payroll providers and third party providers.

- Create and Register New Employer Account on-line in real time
- View account data
- Update address and phone number
- Register Third Party Administrators (TPA)
- Assign Payroll Provider
- View Employer Account Profile and History
The second phase will include core tax functionality including wage reporting and electronic payments. The second phase is scheduled to be available December 2011.
