Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims System Available Online
All New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions’ offices, including the Unemployment Insurance Operations Center, will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day.
New Mexico’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.3 percent in April 2025, unchanged from March and up from 4.0 percent in the previous year. The national unemployment rate in April was 4.2 percent, unchanged from March and up from 3.9 percent in April 2024. Total nonagricultural payroll employment grew by 10,800 jobs, or 1.2 percent, between April 2024 and April 2025.
The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) has awarded $750,000 in contracts to seven leading organizations to establish and deliver Pre-apprenticeship Opportunity Programs (POPs) in clean energy and infrastructure development, providing hands-on training, related instruction, mentorship, and clear pathways to Registered Apprenticeship Programs or direct employment in high-demand industries.
