Get access to job seeking services, and if needed, Unemployment Insurance benefits fast and securely. The first time you visit www.jobs.state.nm.us you will be prompted to create a new account. In order to create your new account, you will need to have a valid and accessible email address that you do not share with anyone else. Your email address will be used for account management and security purposes.

Apply for Unemployment Insurance Benefits or Certify Your Weekly Claim

Unemployment Insurance (UI) provides temporary financial assistance to qualified individuals who meet state eligibility requirements. UI benefits are financed through employer payroll taxes; they are not deducted from employee paychecks. Everyone who collects UI benefits is legally responsible for following the rules according to New Mexico state law.

All individuals applying for and receiving UI benefits are required to register with the New Mexico Jobs (www.jobs.state.nm.us) first in order to access the Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims System.

How to Register:

  1. Go to www.jobs.state.nm.us.
  2. Click on "Individual"
  3. Follow the create account instructions.
  4. Once you have created your account, you will be directed to your welcome page that will prompt you to register in New Mexico Jobs. Once you have registered you can access the Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims System by clicking on "Unemployment Insurance" under the "Quick Menu" on the left-hand side of the screen or you can access the system by clicking on "Unemployment Insurance Benefits" from your Welcome page.
