Unemployment Information for an Individual

Unemployment Insurance provides temporary financial assistance to qualified individuals who meet state eligibility requirements. Unemployment Insurance benefits are financed through employer payroll taxes; they are not deducted from employee paychecks.

Unemployment Information for Businesses

The Unemployment Insurance program, jointly administered by the state of New Mexico and the federal government, pays benefits to people who are out of work through no fault of their own and who meet certain qualifications. These benefits are financed through employers’ payroll tax contributions.
