Soil Conservation Technician Apprenticeship Program

Inspect sites for compliance issues per SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) and contract guidelines. Properly and safely place hard armoring or seeding to protect infrastructure, improve revegetation and erosion control. Comply with contractor specifications and directives to execute design.

Yearly Salary in New Mexico based on the Occupational Information Network (O*Net).

Who Can Be a Soil Conservation Technician?

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. 
  • A High School diploma or Equivalent. 
  • A higher Degree is recommended but not required. 
  • The applicant must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others. 
  • The applicant must be able to function in hazardous or irritating environments, and adverse weather or temperature conditions. 
  • Must wear and work in proper personnel protective equipment. 
  • Qualified applicants must pass a drug screening provided by 814 Solutions. 
  • 814 Solutions will obtain signed disclosure to perform background check.

    Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.

  • Do you want to become a

    Plumber?

    Assemble, install, alter, and repair pipelines or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air, or other liquids or gases. May install heating and cooling equipment and mechanical control systems.

  • Do you want to become an

    Ironworker?

    Raise, place, and unite iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks. May erect metal storage tanks and assemble prefabricated metal buildings.

  • Do you want to become an

    Electrician?

    Perform preliminary work with the material and tools of the trade; residential and commercial rough wiring and finish work including the installation of various kinds of wires, cables, and conduits per the National Electrical Code; industrial lighting and service installation; motors controls and installation including emergency generators, relays, and timing devices.
