Why was this letter sent to me?

This letter was sent to you to explain whether you have sufficient wages to qualify for benefits. The letter lists the wages reported for you and explains the weekly benefit amount you will receive if otherwise eligible and your maximum benefit amount for the calendar year.

What does this letter mean?

This letter is to notify you if sufficient wages were earned during the base period to make you monetarily eligible to receive Unemployment Insurance benefits. It also lets you know of the amount for which you may be eligible weekly and the total maximum amount you may collect over the life of this claim.

What do I do next?

Continue to certify weekly on the claim and to respond promptly to requests for information from the department.

Where am I in the claims or tax process?

Your claim is being examined to determine whether you qualify for benefits. It can take up to six weeks before you will receive correspondence regarding your claim.

Who should I contact if I have any questions?

You can contact a Customer Service Agent in the Unemployment Insurance Operations Center at 1-877-664-6984, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. English and Spanish-speaking Customer Service Agents are available to assist you.

You can also access claims information online at www.jobs.state.nm.us. All individuals receiving Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits are required to log into the New Mexico Workforce Connection Online System (www.jobs.state.nm.us) first in order to access the UI Tax & Claims System. UI claimants are required to maintain usernames and passwords for both the online jobs system (www.jobs.state.nm.us) and the UI Tax & Claims System.
