NMDWS Secretary to attend Governor’s Cabinet in Your Community in Ruidoso and Mescalero

The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions invites you to share your thoughts on employment successes and challenges in Eastern New Mexico.

NMDWS Cabinet Secretary Sarita Nair will attend two Cabinet in Your Community events on September 20-21, 2024, to discuss employment initiatives in and around the Ruidoso area and provide an opportunity for residents of Ruidoso and Mescalero to ask questions and voice their concerns.

“I look forward to speaking to residents and business owners about their workforce needs, challenges, and successes,” said NMDWS Cabinet Secretary Sarita Nair. “After a challenging summer of wildfires and floods that disrupted lives and livelihoods, we’re here to help our communities rebuild. Whether you’re exploring new job opportunities or looking for skilled candidates our offices provide personalized support from job matching and career coaching to recruiting and training resources.”

Secretary Nair will outline how the agency, with the Eastern Area Workforce Development Board's help, is using $800,000 in emergency dislocated worker grant funding from the U.S. Department of Labor to aid in the cleanup and recovery efforts following the South Fork and Salt Forest fires.
