NMDWS announces temporary office closure for statewide cloud system migration
The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) will close all offices statewide on Friday, May 29, 2026, to complete a major technology upgrade and cloud migration as part of the Department’s Future Ready Workforce Systems initiative.
During the transition on Friday, May 29, the department’s websites and online systems will be temporarily unavailable to both staff and the public. NMDWS staff will not have access to agency systems used for case management, customer support, and workforce services.
The Future Ready Workforce Systems initiative is designed to modernize the Department’s technology infrastructure and improve the reliability, flexibility, and security of systems that support New Mexico workers, job seekers, employers, and families. The upgraded platform introduces enhanced monitoring, improved access controls, and cloud-based security services to help safeguard sensitive workforce and customer information.
“This transition allows us to strengthen those protections while modernizing our technology infrastructure so we can provide the most reliable, effective, and responsive services to New Mexicans across the state,” said NMDWS Cabinet Secretary Sarita Nair. “Protecting sensitive information and maintaining strong security practices will always remain a top priority for our department.”
Online services will resume Sunday, May 31, including the Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims System (https://www.jobs.dws.nm.gov). Claimants may complete their weekly certification for benefits anytime Sunday through Saturday online or by calling the Unemployment Insurance Operations Center Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
