NMDWS kicks off business webinar series

First session focuses on immigration changes and business impact

The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) is launching a new monthly Employer Webinar Series to connect employers with expert insights, resources, and real-time answers on the issues that matter most to their business.

The series will kick off with “Immigration Changes and Your Business: What You Need to Know,” a free virtual event taking place on April 17, 2025, at 2p.m., hosted by NMDWS’s Office of New Americans. Recordings of this and future webinars will be available on the NMDWS website and YouTube channel, allowing employers to access them at any time.

At the inaugural webinar, Cabinet Secretary Sarita Nair, Leo Castaneda from the Office of New Americans, and Olsi Vrapi, partner at leading New Mexico immigration law firm Vrapi Weeks, will discuss what an employer needs to know to stay one step ahead in a changing employment world.

"Businesses told us they need fast, clear, and accessible information about workforce trends and services,” said NMDWS Cabinet Secretary Sarita Nair. “This series is our way of helping employers stay informed, adapt to policy changes, and confidently meet their workforce needs.”

Future webinars series topics include:

  • Healthy Workplaces Act

  • Tips to achieve lower Unemployment Insurance Tax Rate
