Unemployment Insurance Call Center Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

Automated Toll-Free Phone Options and Website Available

(Albuquerque)  -  The  New  Mexico  Department  of  Workforce  Solutions’  unemployment insurance call center will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday from Thursday, November 24 to Sunday, November 27, 2011. The department urges claimants to plan accordingly.

The unemployment claims system website, www.dws.state.nm.us, will be available from 3 a.m.-
8 p.m. daily, and the unemployment insurance toll-free phone option, 1-877-664-6984, will be available 24-hours a day for normal self-service functions.

The department would like to remind all eligible unemployment insurance claimants that Thursday, November 24 is a federal holiday. Banking institutions and the U.S. Postal Service will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving. This will result in accounts being funded when financial  institutions  reopen  on  Friday  and  will  affect  unemployment  insurance  debit  card holders and direct deposit participants. This will also result in a delay of mail delivery for a small portion of unemployment insurance claimants who receive checks.

Thursday and Friday are also state holidays, and all New Mexico Department of Workforce
Solutions offices will be closed.
