Workforce Solutions Extends Hours of Unemployment Insurance System Availability
Online system will be available from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday-Friday

(Albuquerque, NM) - The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) has extended the hours that the new Unemployment Insurance (UI) Tax & Claims System is available for approximately 23,000 claimants and 45,000 employers across the state. The online system will now be available Sunday through Friday from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Every week, nearly half of all the UI claims filed and 70 percent of certifications for benefits are filed via the online system. In addition, over 35,000 employers have activated their accounts in the system and can now take advantage of self-service online functionality including electronically filing wage reports and viewing notices of claim filings.

“We have monitored the percentage of individuals and employers accessing the UI system since the launch just three months ago,” said Cabinet Secretary Celina Bussey. “Increasing the time that someone can log in to the system, particularly adding an hour in the evenings, will allow additional time to access the system and more opportunity for those who need to view their account, update information, or check the status of a claim.”

The online UI Tax & Claims System will be available Sunday through Friday from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. The system can be accessed through the main NMDWS website at www.dws.state.nm.us, or individuals can go directly to the New Mexico Workforce Connection site at www.jobs.state.nm.us. The hours for the UI Operations Center, for those who need to speak to a Customer Service Agent, will remain the same from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The UI Operations Center can be reached via the 1-877-NM-4-MYUI (1-877-664-6984) toll-free number.
