The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (“Department” or “NMDWS”) hereby gives notice that the Department will conduct a public hearing in conference room of the Human Rights Bureau located at 1596 Pacheco St Suite 103 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, 87505 on December 5, 2019 at 10:00 am.

(Albuquerque, NM) – The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions’ (NMDWS) Labor Relations Division received several wage claims from workers who were not paid their total wages for hours worked by Blue Mountain Contractors. The Albuquerque based company was hired by Fort Sumner Schools to construct a new concessions building in 2018 under a public works project. The audit of certified payrolls revealed $30,309.93 in wages and fringe owed to six employees, as well as $1,742.34 for the Apprenticeship and Training Fund.

The New Mexico State Workforce Development Board will hold a meeting on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Mid-Region Council of Governments – 809 Copper Ave, NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102.

The U.S. Census Bureau is actively seeking to obtain 23,000 New Mexico applicants to fill thousands of positions at a pay rate of $13.50 to $15 an hour. The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions and New Mexico Workforce Connection (NMWC) have partnered with Census to help staff those positions across the state.
