On-the-Job Training

Get paid for hands on training needed to perform a specific job. 

Training in the public or private sector that is given to a paid employee while he or she is engaged in productive work and that provides knowledge and skills essential to the full and adequate performance of the job. 


Vocational Training 

Looking for a job in an emerging occupation? We can pay for your tuition

Accredited educational programs that are directly related to the preparation of individuals for employment in current or emerging occupations requiring training to include a baccalaureate or advanced degree. Vocational educational training must be supervised on an ongoing basis no less frequently than daily and may include work-focused general education and language instruction.

Education Works Program

Are you a college student? You can complete your required NM Works hours by attending your regular classes.

The purpose of the Education Works Program (EWP) is to provide financial assistance to a benefit group where at least one parent is enrolled in a post-secondary, graduate or post-graduate institution. The participant benefit group must otherwise be eligible for NM Works Program cash assistance, but chooses to participate in EWP.

    Applications Developer?

    Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.

  • Do you want to become a

    Plumber?

    Assemble, install, alter, and repair pipelines or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air, or other liquids or gases. May install heating and cooling equipment and mechanical control systems.

    Ironworker?

    Raise, place, and unite iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks. May erect metal storage tanks and assemble prefabricated metal buildings.

  • Do you want to become an

    Electrician?

    Perform preliminary work with the material and tools of the trade; residential and commercial rough wiring and finish work including the installation of various kinds of wires, cables, and conduits per the National Electrical Code; industrial lighting and service installation; motors controls and installation including emergency generators, relays, and timing devices.
