The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions produces economic data, economic research, career, and employment publications through grants with the U.S. Department of Labor. Browse through a variety of products, including economic reports and special analysis focusing on the labor market, career and employment resource publications, veteran-specific reports, and labor market information resources.


Each month, New Mexico’s employment and unemployment estimates, corresponding analysis, and other data (consumer price index data, unemployment insurance initial claims counts, online job openings counts) are released in the Labor Market Review (LMR). The LMR also includes one to two special research articles prepared by NMDWS’s Economic Research and Analysis Bureau. Articles are authored by rotating economists and cover a wide array of topics.

Annual New Mexico State of the Workforce Report

This report is published annually, typically in the first quarter of the year, and provides information and analysis on what New Mexico’s workforce looks like and how it’s growing. It also highlights employment in the state’s industries alongside occupational employment and wages. This, coupled with data on skills and education, serves to evaluate not only the existing workforce and job market, but also the future supply and demand of jobs and workers.


New Mexico Annual Social & Economic Indicators Statistical Abstract

This publication, also known as the ASEI, is revised annually and released during the second quarter of the year. The abstract is intended to provide planners and other data users with a broad range of historic, current, and expected labor market data, demographics, and other critical economic indicators for New Mexico and its substate areas. Data include geographic comparisons.

Quarterly Regional Review

The Regional Review, covering the four Workforce Investment Areas (WIAs), including Central, Eastern, Southwestern, and Northern, is a quarterly publication that includes a special-topic research article alongside employment data, labor market information, and business news.

New Mexico Business Employment Dynamics Quarterly Analysis
