State’s $500K boost will kickstart new partnership in Northern NM
The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) is investing $500,000 in the Northern New Mexico Youth Fund, becoming the first state agency to partner with the organization to provide job training for underserved youth.
The New Mexico State Workforce Development Board is seeking applications for new members to advise on statewide workforce development strategies and play a key role in aligning education, training, and employment efforts with the State’s economic goals.
Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims System Available Online
All New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions’ offices, including the Unemployment Insurance Operations Center, will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day.
New Mexico’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.3 percent in April 2025, unchanged from March and up from 4.0 percent in the previous year. The national unemployment rate in April was 4.2 percent, unchanged from March and up from 3.9 percent in April 2024. Total nonagricultural payroll employment grew by 10,800 jobs, or 1.2 percent, between April 2024 and April 2025.
