Virtual Town Hall – End of CARES Act Unemployment Programs

This Wednesday the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions will host a virtual town hall in regards to the scheduled end of benefits. Secretary McCamley along with subject matter experts will be on hand to provide further details on what claimants can expect, answer questions, and provide information on available resources and services from other agencies.

NMDWS prepares to issue payments for one-time $1,200 stimulus as CARES Act Programs are scheduled to expire for many claimants

The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) will begin issuing the $1,200 one-time supplemental unemployment compensation benefit to eligible claimants during the week of December 14^th. This stimulus payment will be made before many Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimants will see their benefits end on or before December 26, 2020, according to federal program guidelines.

2nd Annual New Mexico Governor’s STEM Challenge

NMSU to host virtual competition for High School teams vying for $5,000 in prize money

High school students from 33 schools will be competing for $5,000 in prize money from 18 employers in the 2^nd Annual New Mexico Governor’s STEM Challenge. Hosted and organized by New Mexico State University (NMSU), the Los Alamos National Labs Foundation, New Mexico Public Education Department (PED), and New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS), this event will be entirely virtual this Saturday, December 12, 2020.
