The Human Rights Commission will hold a Human Rights Hearing, in Roswell, NM at the Chaves County Courthouse Administration Building, Sheriff’s Training Room, #1 St. Mary’s Place, beginning at 9:00 am on December 6 & 7, 2016.

 

Statewide "Hire Veterans Job Fair," Thursday November 17th

Albuquerque, NM – The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) announces that this Thursday, November 17th, 2016, the “Hire Veterans Job Fair” will be held in 18 cities and communities around the state, and all of the events are open to the general public but with focus on hiring veterans, transitioning service members, military spouses, and their families. Over 200 employers will be participating in the job fairs in: Albuquerque and the surrounding area; Artesia; Carlsbad; Clovis; Deming; Española; Farmington; Gallup; Hobbs; Las Cruces; Las Vegas; Moriarty; Roswell; Ruidoso; Santa Fe; Silver City; Socorro; and Taos. Veterans Day

All New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions’ offices, including the Unemployment Insurance Operations Center, will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2016, for Veterans Day. The department urges claimants to plan accordingly.

New Mexico Receives $790K Apprenticeship Grant from the U.S. Department of Labor

Funding for ApprenticeshipUSA Advanced Manufacturing Expansion (AME) Project

Albuquerque, NM – The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) announces that the department has been awarded a $790,455 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to fund the ApprenticeshipUSA Advanced Manufacturing Expansion (AME) project, a pilot program designed to determine workforce skills gaps and meet those gaps with the development of training, curriculum, and credentials. Through this grant, NMDWS is committed to supporting the development of new apprenticeship programs in advanced manufacturing and diversifying the Registered Apprenticeship opportunities in New Mexico.
