The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) has received approval from the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) to issue a blanket waiver, allowing the department to forgive certain overpayments made under the CARES Act.

All New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions’ offices, including the Unemployment Insurance Operations Center, will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The national unemployment rate in October was 4.1 percent, unchanged from September and up from 3.8 percent in October 2023. Total nonagricultural payroll employment grew by 11,500 jobs, or 1.3 percent, between October 2023 and October 2024.
