Labor Market Data Released Earlier Every Month

(Albuquerque, NM) – The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) will be releasing labor market information and data, including the unemployment rate and job growth numbers, earlier every month. In 2012, New Mexico has joined a growing number of states that release monthly labor market information on an accelerated schedule. The first release on the new 2012 schedule will be next Tuesday, March 13 and will reflect January 2012 data.

ALBUQUERQUE – Today, at a lunch meeting with over 200 small business owners and leaders, Governor Susana Martinez signed SB 32 into law, which provides $81 million worth of temporary tax relief to small businesses throughout New Mexico in 2012.

NMDWS Reminds UI Claimants of Federal Holiday

Claimants Should Plan Accordingly for Presidents’ Day

(Albuquerque) – The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) would like to remind all eligible unemployment insurance claimants that Monday, February 20, 2012 is a federal holiday. Banking institutions and the US Postal Service will be closed in observance of Presidents’ Day. This will result in a delay of banking transactions for unemployment insurance debit card holders and direct deposit payment recipients. This will also result in a delay of mail delivery for unemployment insurance claimants who receive paper checks. The department urges claimants to plan accordingly.

NMDWS Announces First Tri-County Virtual Job Fair

Promoting Job Opportunities in Chaves, Eddy & Lea Counties

(Albuquerque, NM) - The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions announced the first Tri-County Virtual Job Fair, scheduled for February 15-22, 2012, to connect job seekers statewide with employers in Chaves, Eddy, and Lea Counties. This event is in response to employers’ hiring needs and workforce shortages in each of the counties which have experienced job growth in various industries and unemployment below the statewide rate. NMDWS Mails Unemployment Insurance Claimant 1099s

(Albuquerque, NM) - The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions has mailed IRS 1099-G forms to Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimants. Claimants who do not receive their forms by next week should contact the UI Call Center at 1-877-664-6984 to verify their address and contact information. Claimants who have additional questions about their forms can call the 1099 Information and Message Line at (505) 841-8069.
