New Mexico's Unemployment Rate was 3.5% in April 2023

New Mexico’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.5 percent in April 2023, unchanged from March and down from 4.3 percent in April 2022. The national unemployment rate in April was 3.4 percent, down from 3.5 percent in March and down from 3.6 percent in April 2022. Total nonagricultural payroll employment grew by 18,200 jobs, or 2.1 percent, between April 2022 and April 2023.

Human Rights Commission Hearing

The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions will host a press conference at San Juan County McGee Park in Farmington on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. to announce the Energy Transition Act (ETA) Displaced Worker Assistance Fund of over $12 million is ready to be made available as direct assistance to those affected by the closure of the San Juan Generation Station and adjacent coal mine.
