DescriptionWithin the Engineering & Technology organization of Honeywell Aerospace we have an opening for a Component Engineer Intern which is part of the Electronic Hardware Center of Excellence (EHCOE) at the Honeywell Albuquerque facility.
The Component Engineering group is responsible for providing knowledge and expertise in selection, specification, application, and qualification of electronic parts for use in high reliability avionics’ systems.
This position will involve interfacing with design teams to assure reliable application of parts and interfacing with suppliers to assess part performance. Additional task include Electronic Part Assessment, Bill of Materials (BOM) Analysis and providing Component Expertise to other Engineering and Sourcing departments.
Basic Qualifications:
The candidate must be in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Must be a U.S. citizen due to export control restrictions. Dual citizenship is not permitted
Must be able to complete an internship, prior to graduating
Additional Requirements:
Coursework with electronic design is desired.
Ability to present clear and concise verbal and written communications is a plus.
Ability to identify, analyze, and solve technical problems associated with electronic parts
Ability to support failure investigations and implement solutions to solve field and production hardware failures
Ability to analyze and solve problems with electronic components, including technical issues, cost trades, and part obsolescence
Ability to identify and mitigate risk, solve difficult problems, and analyze complex systems
Ability to provide clear and articulate written and oral reports to project technical directors, management, and customers teams
Ability to contribute to, and interface with diverse teams
Ability to learn and develop, and to lead by example.
Work related experience is a plus.
Fluent in English both written and verbal is plus.
Experience with space, military, commercial, and aerospace customers’ part technical requirements is a plus.
Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis is a plus
Experience with military specifications is a plus.
Experience in design or component engineering is a plus.
