NMDWS Reminds UI Claimants to Plan Accordingly

NMDWS to Observe Upcoming Holidays

(Albuquerque, NM) - All New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions offices, including the unemployment insurance call center, will be closed in observance of Christmas on Monday, December 26, 2011 and New Year’s on Monday, January 2, 2012. The unemployment insurance claims system website, www.dws.state.nm.us, will be available from 3 a.m.-8 p.m. daily, and the unemployment insurance toll-free telephone option, 1-877-664-6984, will be available 24-hours a day for normal self-service functions.

The  department  would  like  to  remind  all  eligible  unemployment  insurance  claimants  that Monday, December 26, 2011 and Monday, January 2, 2012 are federal holidays. Banking institutions and the US Postal Service will be closed. This will result in accounts being funded when financial institutions reopen. This may affect unemployment insurance debit card holders and direct deposit participants. Those receiving paper checks may also be affected as the US Postal Service will observe the federal holidays.

The department urges claimants to plan accordingly.
