What is the Worker Pandemic Benefit?

The Worker Pandemic Benefit (WPB) is a one-time supplemental unemployment compensation benefit in the amount of $1,200 to those who have lost work due to the COVID-19 pandemic and who are or were eligible for unemployment benefits, including regular state unemployment insurance, Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC), Extended Benefits, or Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA).

The WPB was authorized through state legislation passed during the 2020 Special Session.

Thursday, December 17th, the Energy Transition Act Committee (ETAC) consisting of local community members in NW New Mexico will hold their second of three required meetings. The ETAC will review responses to the Request for Information, hear presentations from each submission group, provide opportunity for questions, and offer direction for further development if needed.

NMDWS urges claimants to utilize online services for unemployment insurance; if calling in, abide by designated call days

The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) continues to receive an unprecedented number of calls to the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Operations Center. Claimants are urged to utilize online services whenever possible. In the event a claimant needs to speak with a Customer Service Agent, they are asked to abide by the call-in schedule to assist in reducing phone line congestion.
