Why was this letter sent to me?

This letter was sent to you to inform you whether you are eligible to receive Unemployment Insurance benefits with the state of New Mexico.
If you are an employer receiving this letter, it is to inform you whether a former employee who has filed for Unemployment Insurance benefits is eligible to do so.

What does this letter mean?

This letter serves to inform a claimant or employer of the claimant's eligibility or ineligibility to receive benefits and the time period for which this eligibility or ineligibility applies. There are different types of non-monetary determinations such as: Notice of Approval; which means that the claimant is approved to receive benefits if all other monetary eligibility requirements are met, Notice of Disqualification; which means the claimant has not established that they met non-monetary requirements to qualify to receive benefits, Notice of Liability; which is informing the employer whether they are liable to pay benefits to a claimant.  If this is a redetermination, it means that the original determination on this claim may have changed.

What do I do next?

If you do not agree with this determination, you can request a hearing. You can do this by completing the Request for Hearing information provided and mailing it back to the Department or by logging in to your account online at www.jobs.state.nm.us. You must do this within fifteen calendar days from the date of mailing of the determination.
If you are a claimant, you should continue certifying weekly if you are still unemployed.
