2026-2027 AmeriCorps State Request for Applications - Competitive Pool

Funding Overview

On November 24, 2025 the Serve New Mexico Commission will release its Request for Applications (RFA: #26-631-7004-00093), based on AmeriCorps Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the 2026 - 2027 Program Year. The 2026 “Competitive” competition is to request applications to establish AmeriCorps programs throughout the State of New Mexico to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic participation through service. When AmeriCorps releases the NOFO, an amendment will be made to update the NOFO and all associated material to this newest opportunity. All updates and amendment notifications will be sent out to those organizations that submit a Notice of Intent to Apply on December 1, 2025.

This funding competition is called “Competitive” because the Serve New Mexico Commission will review and select the highest quality applications to be submitted on behalf of the Serve New Mexico Commission to be considered by AmeriCorps for Funding. While the Serve New Mexico Commission will review receive the application and conduct a review process is designed to identify and determine which programs will be represent the Serve New Mexico Commission, the funding decisions will be made by AmeriCorps. All interested applicants must submit a Notification of Intent to by December 1, 2025 by 11:59pm MST and applications from eligible applicants are due December 23, 2025 by 5:00pm Mountain. See RFA 26-631-7001-00093 (below) for details.

  • Submission of the Notice of Intent to Apply for this competition is due on December 1, 2025 by 11:59pm MST by email to servenm@dws.nm.gov This list will be used for all communication related to this RFP for the remainder of the application timeline.
  • Deadline to submit Written Questions: December 15, 2025
  • Response to Written Questions: December 18, 2025
  • The deadline for Full Applications is December 23, 2025 by 5:00pm MST. The application process requires submission of final word documents and excel to servenm@dws.nm.gov.

All required items must be submitted by the given due dates. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

Notice to Applicants: Unique Entity Identifier (SAM) Requirement

A SAM Unique Entity Identifier is Required to Bid on Government Contracts and to Receive Grants.
By April of 2022, the federal government will stop using the DUNS number to uniquely identify entities. At that point, entities doing business with the federal government will use a Unique Entity Identifier (SAM) created in SAM.gov. To register, please visit: https://sam.gov/content/home
